A prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Segun Sowunmi, asserted on Thursday that individuals who supported President Bola Tinubu’s ascent to power are now experiencing embarrassment, particularly in light of the certificate controversy surrounding Tinubu’s credentials from the Chicago State University (CSU).
Speculations have arisen regarding the authenticity of the certificate that President Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with claims of forgery circulating.
During an appearance on Channels TV on Thursday night, Sowunmi highlighted the predicament faced by some supporters, including former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode. He suggested that individuals who had previously spoken in favor of President Tinubu’s presidency might now find themselves in an awkward position due to the ongoing controversy.
Sowunmi referenced other instances of controversies surrounding public figures and questioned the credibility of the information being circulated about President Tinubu’s credentials. He emphasized the importance of scrutinizing the available evidence and suggested that individuals who had expressed support for President Tinubu in the past might now face embarrassment in light of the unfolding situation.
