In a fervent call to unity and support, Senator Uche Ekwunife, the Director General of the South East Governors Forum, has urged all Christians and Nigerians to come together in prayer for President Tinubu and his administration. The 9th Senate Lawmaker emphasized the need to set aside sectional, political, and religious sentiments, placing national interest at the forefront to bolster the leadership of President Tinubu.
This plea was made during a Sunday gathering at Joseph’s Catholic Church Nri, located in the Njikoka local government area of Anambra state. Senator Ekwunife not only delivered a powerful message but also displayed her commitment by procuring and handing over a multi-million naira 14-seater vehicle to the Catholic Women Organization (CWO).
While presenting the generous gift, Senator Ekwunife urged the congregation and Christians nationwide to direct their prayers towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders overseeing various government institutions. Stressing the crucial role of effective leadership in the betterment of society, she highlighted that the citizenry benefits when leaders succeed in their responsibilities.
Senator Ekwunife reiterated her dedication to supporting the church, recognizing the pivotal role that religious institutions play in fostering peaceful coexistence and good governance within communities.
Although the 14-seater vehicle was specifically donated to the CWO, Senator Ekwunife emphasized its potential use for other essential activities of the church, ensuring optimal utilization for the greater benefit of the congregation.
The 9th Senate Lawmaker clarified that the donation fulfilled a pledge made shortly after the 2023 general elections, aiming to alleviate the mobility constraints of the church in spreading the gospel and winning souls for God.
Expressing gratitude for the benevolent act, Mrs. Ezinne Anthonia, President of the CWO, commended Senator Uche Ekwunife for exemplifying a different approach to politics. She emphasized that the senator’s actions were not solely tied to political advantage but demonstrated genuine concern for the welfare of the society.
The mass, presided over by Reverend Father Prof Clement Ezeka, emphasized the importance of supporting leaders committed to good governance, citing Senator Uche Ekwunife as a prime example. The parish priest blessed the new 14-seater operational vehicle in accordance with church tradition, expressing appreciation for Senator Ekwunife’s generosity and commitment to both the Church and the Catholic faithful at large.
