In a recent development, Simon Ekpa, the leader of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (@BiafraRGIE), has made a bold statement, declaring that he will not engage in any form of communication with Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Ekpa firmly stated that he will not listen to Kanu, whether it be from the Department of State Services (DSS), a hospital, or Nigeria itself. He emphasized his refusal to communicate with Kanu over the phone, video calls, television calls, internet calls, or any other means. Instead, Ekpa expressed his desire to have a face-to-face meeting with Kanu in Finland.
The Biafra Republic Government in Exile’s leader underlined the gravity of the situation, warning that if his condition for a direct meeting is not met, the collapse of Nigeria will soon begin. Ekpa is resolute in his commitment to liberating Biafra, and he does not want any involvement from what he refers to as “political criminals” in the process.
Drawing inspiration from India’s fight for independence against Britain, Ekpa reminded that during that historic struggle, none of the Indian leaders lamented about Gandhi’s role. He believes that sacrifices must be made to the very last minute to achieve the liberation of Biafra.
As the situation unfolds, the Biafra Republic Government in Exile stands firm on its stance, with Ekpa leading the way in the pursuit of Biafra’s freedom. The rejection of communication with Nnamdi Kanu signals a determination to pursue the cause independently and on its terms.
