Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has expressed his belief that the removal of fuel subsidy would have a detrimental effect on President Bola Tinubu’s government. According to Primate Ayodele, if God decides to show him mercy, his administration will not fare well until 2026.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the clergyman emphasized that it is not yet the appropriate time for Tinubu to remove the fuel subsidy, as it would adversely impact his government. Primate Ayodele predicted that such a move would lead to significant economic hardship, and he emphasized the importance of relying on God’s mercy for improvement.
The clergyman further commented on President Tinubu’s handling of the subsidy issue, stating that it was not properly addressed. He expressed his belief that although there is nothing inherently wrong with removing the subsidy, the current method being employed is causing problems. Primate Ayodele also advised Nigerians not to expect significant progress from Tinubu’s government within the first four years in office.
Overall, Primate Ayodele cautioned against the removal of fuel subsidy at this time, citing potential negative consequences for President Tinubu’s government, and suggested that a different approach should be taken to address the issue.
