In a recent development, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has announced the appointment of 11 new justices, bringing the total number to the constitutionally mandated complement of 21. The decision was reached at the 104th meeting of the apex court’s council held in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to the Director of Information for the apex court, Soji Oye, the appointments are in line with the constitutional provision and will contribute to the effective functioning of the judiciary.
