The Nguru community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State is in a state of tension and mourning following the tragic demise of their traditional ruler, Eze James Nnamdi. The monarch was shot dead by unknown gunmen who invaded his palace.
According to reports, the incident occurred while the traditional ruler was attending to a guest, Chief Ignatius Nwaru, at his palace. The attackers stormed in and shot him, resulting in his untimely death. Chief Ignatius Nwaru was also injured in the attack and has been rushed to a hospital for treatment.
A source from the community revealed that the incident took place around 3 pm, leaving the residents in shock and fear. The Imo State Police Command has responded to the incident, with the Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Berde, ordering a thorough investigation into the murder.
