Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was conspicuously missing on Thursday as the presidential candidates signed the now-customary peace pact.
However, the APC vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, represented Tinubu at the occasion.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, amongst others were present at the signing.
The event, which was organised by the National Peace Committee, took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, on Thursday.
According to the Chairman of NPC, Abdulsalami Abubakar, the peace accord was to promote peaceful electioneering.
