President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have raised objections to the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) admitting exhibits from 32 states of the federation, which were tendered by the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
During the court session, a bundle of exhibits containing the total number of collected permanent voter cards (PVCs) and registered voters in the states was admitted as evidence. These exhibits were presented by Mr. Peter Obi, who alleged that the 2023 presidential election was rigged in favor of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, President Tinubu, the APC, and INEC vehemently opposed the admissibility of the exhibits. They stated that they would provide reasons for their objections in their final written addresses.
Despite the objections, the court admitted the documents on the total number of PVCs from the 32 states and marked them as exhibits PCN 1 to PCN 32. Additionally, the court accepted other electoral documents, including a certified true copy of a certificate of compliance for exhibits previously tendered by the petitioners.
In earlier proceedings, the petitioners called three more witnesses, including Dr. Chibuike Ugwoke, a cyber security expert, who testified before the court.
