The Tinubu Campaign Organisation has refuted claims that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is supporting the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi.
Naija News recalls that Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, alongside his running mate, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, had met with Obasanjo on July 17.
On August 25, Obasanjo alongside Obi met with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and some governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in London.
The former President had also met with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu and some of his allies at his Ota residence.
Speaking with The Punch, the spokesman of the Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, stated that Obasanjo is not supporting any candidate.
Onanuga said all the presidential candidates have been visiting Obasanjo as an elder statesman to seek his blessing and not to solicit his support for the 2023 presidential election
