President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that they will soon experience the positive outcomes of the “tough but necessary decisions” taken by his administration. He made this promise during a meeting with the South-South Monarchs Forum at the State House.
The President commended the traditional rulers for their understanding approach to the ongoing economic reforms, specifically mentioning the removal of the fuel subsidy. He assured them that his administration is dedicated to addressing concerns related to development and environmental degradation, particularly in the South-South geopolitical zone.
President Tinubu emphasized that his administration is working domestically and internationally to strengthen Nigeria’s resilience and approach to climate change, environmental restoration, and infrastructure development while ensuring security and stability in the region.
“We are working to revive the economy from the damage of several years. We seek your support, prayers, and understanding, and I am glad that the Vice-Chairman of the Forum served in an organization where we need intelligence to operate,” said President Tinubu.
He urged the traditional rulers to provide valuable intelligence for the holistic development of the country, assuring them that he would address each concern raised by them individually. The President expressed gratitude for the traditional institutions’ contributions to the peace and stability of Nigeria, urging them to continue guiding the youth to maintain faith in the country.
In response, His Royal Majesty Major-General Felix Mujakperuo, Vice-Chairman of the South-South Monarchs Forum, appealed to President Tinubu to monitor and follow up on all developmental efforts in the region to ensure tangible progress for the people. The traditional ruler expressed confidence in the President’s commitment to addressing the region’s challenges.
