In a tragic incident, an unidentified female adult was discovered dead in a hotel room in Morogbo, Badagry, Lagos State. The incident occurred on Friday, November 31, after the deceased had checked into the hotel with a male partner.
According to reports, both guests arrived at the hotel in the morning, made a payment for a short rest, and entered their room. Hours later, when the receptionist attempted to give the room to another customer, they found it locked. Concerned, the hotel worker used a spare key to open the door and discovered the lifeless body of the lady lying naked on the bed. Her clothes and phone were reported to be missing.
A resident in the community, who shared details of the incident, stated that efforts to locate the male guest were unsuccessful, as their information was not recorded by the receptionist upon arrival. The hotel owner was informed, and the search for the male guest commenced, but his whereabouts remained unknown.
The hotel’s director reported the incident to the police, who arrived at the scene that night, took photographs of the deceased, and removed her body. The hotel owner and the receptionist have been arrested, and the case is set to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The absence of customer records and CCTV footage at the hotel has added complexity to the investigation. The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and assured that the case would be thoroughly investigated. The deceased’s body has been deposited in the morgue as the authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding her untimely death.
