The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to follow the step of former president Goodluck Jonathan in putting an end to the ongoing strike.
It was reported that the strike began on February 14, 2022, over the government’s inability to fully address the union’s demands.
The strike has now lasted for 6 months with no end in sight.
The president of the union, Emmanuel Osodeke during an interview with AIT’s Focus Nigeria, stated that during the administration of Jonathan, a 14-hour negotiation occurred to solve the issue
